ABOUT PRIYAL

Priyal Shah is an editor who seeks to tell fish-out-of-water stories—narratives about characters who are the odd ones out. Growing up, she often found herself in communities where no one else looks like her and therefore, had to get comfortable with being different. She wants to help others do the same.

 

For her, filmmaking is a deeply collaborative process. She strives to foster inclusive, welcoming sets where every voice is valued and learning is prioritized.

 

Priyal's background is in editing. She began editing in seventh grade and instantly fell in love with the craft. She has over eight years of experience working in Adobe Premiere Pro and is proficient in Avid Media Composer as well. 

 

She is currently pursuing a BFA in Film and Television Production at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where she continues to refine her storytelling skills alongside passionate peers and mentors.

 

She is based in Los Angeles and Seattle.
